On GPUs that meet the minimum VRAM requirements (8GB and 12GB cards) NeuroServer was running inefficently due to memory usage. We have reduced requirements to allow faster image processing on these devices which were bottlenecked by memory. For 8GB and 12GB VRAM GPUs, the speed improvement is up to 4x.
in our testing with an NVIDIA 4060 Laptop GPU with 8GB VRAM, we upscaled a 24MP image to 96MP (2x upscale) with the following results. Note that devices with more GPU have lower improvement due to no memory bottleneck in processing.
- 1982s (33m) processing time on v1.6.0
- 450s (7.5m) processing time on v1.6.1, a 4x increase
If you’ve been avoiding these models for larger images or batches because of processing time, this update changes that calculation.

I’m having trouble completing the installation; the process froze mid-installation and didn’t finish. I can install other programs like Topaz Video perfectly.

I installed 1.3.0 and, soon after, 1.3.1 and in both cases there was the same issue. Norton quarantined the file version.dll as containing a dangerous trojan during the install. After I allowed the quarantine it carried on to completion. After running a number of pictures through various models, as far as I can tell, the program is operating normally without version.dll.
I opened up the downloaded TopazPhotoPro1.3.1×64.exe installation file with WinRAR and ran Norton and Malwarebytes over the resulting folder. Norton again quarantined version.dll, but Malwarebytes detected nothing. False detection??

This is the first version that I have been unable to install after numerous attempts. After completely uninstalling previous installs, disabling Norton and running as administrator, I get to a point where it fails to download Neuroserver after 4 attempts and continues without it. When I try to open the program, I get a message saying that there is a problem with the licence server. Anybody having similar issues and getting around them?
If there’s a problem with the license server, an old license file is still present.
Delete “%ProgramData%\\Topaz Labs LLC\\Topaz Photo\\models\\*.lic” and copy the newly installed “topaz.lic” file (from your specified Models folder) to that location after installation.
Update: With the Topaz Video 1.7.0 repack installer, the newly “topaz.lic” file is correctly copied to “%ProgramData%\\Topaz Labs LLC\\Topaz Video\\models\\topaz.lic”. But with Topaz Photo 1.7.0, this has to be done manually. I think @Cyberloner might still have a bug in his installer. At least that’s how it was for me.
I very much appreciate your getting back on this. I’m not sure that your suggested post-installation solution will solve the problem of Neuroserver not downloading during installation. I use Revo Uninstaller to remove the progam so there is nothing left to affect a subsequent installation. Meanwhile I have reverted to Version 1.6.0 pending Mr. Popov and Cyberloner getting it sorted out.
I could not understand your update comment. Did you manage to install a working program? If the Topaz.lic file was correctly copied, what did you do?
Neuroserver was correctly installed for me with both versions (Topaz Photo 1.7.0 & Topaz Video 1.7.0). The only thing that didn’t work automatically in Cyberloner’s installer for me was copying the new license file to “%ProgramData%\\Topaz Labs LLC\\Topaz Photo\\models\\topaz.lic” for Topaz Photo. I had to do that manually. The installer did it correctly for Topaz Video, though.

No, the Neuroserver models (Wonder-1, Wonder-2, Wonder-3, Wonder-3.5) are not included. But honestly, nobody needs them. They are terribly slow and no better than existing models like Standard MAX or High Fidelity.
